      Dr. Somashekara HR. is a seasoned and internationally trained doctor with over two decades of professional experience. He is a reputed and dedicated Pediatric Hepatologist and Liver transplant Physician who has a passion for child care and wellbeing. He has a vast experience in managing children with common ailments and good expertise in managing children with complicated gastrointestinal and liver disorders

      Along with his MBBS, DCH and DNB degrees, Dr Somashekara also has a RCPCH Fellowship inPediatric Hepatology, Gastroenterology & Nutrition from the renowned Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London to his credit. He also has a Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology form Birmingham Children’s Hospital, United Kingdom.

      He has completed his core Pediatric training from World renowned Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. While working as a resident trainee, Dr Somashekara acquired impeccable skills in performing procedures such as liver biopsy, abdominal paracentesis, upper GI endoscopies, Sclerotherapy, Banding Sigmoidoscopy, etc.

      He established the division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Narayana Hospitals, Bommasandra, Bangalore. He has been a part of Liver transplant team at Narayana Hospitals and Gleneagles Health City, Chennai and has several Liver transplants in children to his credit.

      Dr. Somashekara H. R. has received several awards and accolades for his academic performance throughout his learning years including the best outgoing student award from CMC Vellore. He’s also contributed to multiple research papers that have been published by renowned medical journals.
