      Dr Rashmi Adiga is currently working as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Paediatrician at  Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bengaluru. 

      She has  clinical experience in managing children and adolescents with

      ·         Seizures, Epilepsy/Complex Epilepsy, Ketogenic Diet

      ·         Newborn Neurological problems

      ·         Headaches

      ·         Cerebral Palsy

      ·         Acute Paediatric Neurological problems on PICU/NICU (Stroke, neuro-immunology ,seizures, CNS infections etc )

      ·         Movement disorders.

      ·         Neurometabolic and Neurogenetic disorders.

      ·         Developmental delay ,Learning Disability and Complex physical disability.

      ·         Developmental Coordination disorder, Autism Spectrum disorder

      ·         Sleep problems.

      ·         Neuromuscular disorders.

      ·         General Paediatric problems.

      Through the course of her training in paediatrics and paediatric neurology and subsequent work as a consultant, she has worked hard to develop her clinical and nonclinical skills in general paediatrics and simple and complex paediatric neurology. She enjoys working with children and their families and has developed ways to work with them effectively to make the best possible clinical decision for the child. 

      After qualifying from Bangalore Medical College, she qualified with a D.C.H (Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health) at the Institute of Child Health, Madras and obtained a CCT (certificate of completion of training) in paediatrics (special interest paediatric neurology) following training in the Eastern deanery, United Kingdom. After this she worked in U.K as a consultant in community paediatrics (neurodevelopmental paediatrics). Following this she was a fellow in paediatric neurology at Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge and completed modules in the BPNA distance learning course in paediatric neurology and the ICNA basic paediatric EEG course. Following this she worked as a consultant in paediatrics, lead for paediatric neurology and epilepsy services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn and neurodevelopmental paediatrics at Norfolk Community Health and Care before relocating to Bangalore. She was “University of Cambridge Senior Clinical tutor” and hence lead for the placement of Cambridge Medical students in paediatrics. She was an active member of the Eastern Paediatric Epilepsy Network.  During this time, she was honorary visiting specialist in paediatric neurology at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

      After relocating to Bangalore, she has developed substantial experience in tropical paediatric neurology ,managing children with neurological problems in outpatient clinics in India, and also managing simple and complex paediatric neurological problems in both PICU and NICU working with the multidisciplinary team.  In Rainbow hospital, she has led an audit project for care on inpatient children with epilepsy for NABH.

      She is currently faculty for British Paediatric Neurology Association Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET1) courses and Paediatric EEG basics for paediatricians (PEBP) workshops. She is  keen on evidence-based clinical care and has written local clinical guidelines ,articles for journals and contributed to chapters in textbooks .She is currently involved in day to day teaching for DNB paediatric residents,  NICU fellows at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bengaluru and online monthly training programme for DrNB trainees in paediatric neurology based at Rainbow Hospital ,Hyderabad, and a panellist for the biweekly Rainbow neuroscience neuro-radiology meeting. She is faculty for the BPNA distance learning course in paediatric neurology and has contributed to the Neuroimmunology chapter. She is also a reviewer for manuscripts in Karnataka Paediatric Journal.(KPJ)

      After relocating to Bangalore, she was a member of the organising team, scientific committee which organised the successful 10th AOCN (Association of Child Neurology) annual conference in Bengaluru. She has been faculty at many local, national and international conferences.

      She has also been elected to the Fellowship of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and has been appointed as MRCPCH examiner.

      She is currently a member of Paediatric Neurology (subchapter of IAP), International Child Neurology Association (ICNA), Association of Child Neurology (AOCN), British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA), The Asian and Oceanian Child Neurology Association ( AOCNA) and European Paediatric Neurological Society. (EPNS)
